Common questions
When do I pay?
Only after you have seen the painted portrait. A name, one photo and a few questions take just a few minutes, then we paint it. If you like it, you order for with free delivery and then tell the story.
What happens to our photos?
They are used only for your book and deleted automatically after 90 days. Nothing prints until you have approved every page. The details are in the privacy policy.
Will they really look like themselves in the pictures?
You see the portrait before you pay, and every page before anything prints. If something is off, you have up to 50 free regenerations.
Do they have to fill anything in themselves?
No. You answer the questions, as a surprise or together at the kitchen table. You can also simply speak any answer.
I don't know that many stories. Is that enough?
Yes. The questions walk you through the stages: childhood, first job, the love of their life, the family. A few sentences per question are enough. And if you hit a gap, a phone call to them is the nicest part of the preparation.
How long until the book arrives?
About 2 weeks in total. Once you have told the story, your book is ready to review in 30 minutes to 2 hours. Print and shipping then take 5–10 working days (EU + UK; US around 7–10 working days).
Which photos do I need?
The whole family can be in the story: grandchildren, children, partner. With a photo we paint them true to life; without one, a few words will do. You only need a photo of the person the book is about.
Is delivery included?
Yes, delivery is free. In the US, sales tax is added at checkout where it applies.
How can I pay?
Securely through Stripe: by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna or Amazon Pay.
Can I return the book?
Every book exists only once, so it cannot be returned once printing has started. In return, you see every page beforehand and approve it yourself.
